Transit is a vital service that connects our communities, provides an affordable transportation option, and helps create a cleaner, greener future. For many residents, public transit may be their transportation option of choice or their only option. Reliable, accessible, and timely transit service is something that we all expect to have in our community.
Over the last year, I formed the Vancouver-Fraserview Transit Working Group to provide feedback on transit services in our community. We also circulated a Transit Survey to local residents in order to gather additional feedback.
I’m pleased to present the Vancouver-Fraserview Transit Report. I’d like to thank all Transit Working Group members for their tireless work and all of the residents who provided feedback via our Transit Survey. This report would not have been possible without you. Thank you!
Based on the feedback we received, there are three community-led recommendations:
- A New North-South Bus from the River District to an Expo Line SkyTrain Station
- A More Frequent and Efficient #26 (Joyce Station/29th Avenue Station) Bus
- A Seniors Friendly #49 Bus Route
